چکیده

This paper presents a comparative study on the implementation of incentive-based demand response programs in power grid management, comparing results obtained from linear and nonlinear models. The challenges faced by grids balancing supply managing price spikes during peak periods are addressed, proposed as an effective strategy. focus is implementing where load serving entities determine optimal incentive reduction. A novel approach presented for simulating consumer behavior based elasticity consumers’ utility function, incorporating both economic calculation reduction aims to maximize welfare, while determination maximizes profit entities. Real data utilized, models implemented using mixed-integer programming (MINLP) method. demonstrate effectiveness providing incentives consumers hours compared other approaches, with comparison between

Optimization of demand response through peak shaving

We consider a consumer of a resource, such as electricity, who must pay a per unit charge to procure the resource, as well as a peak demand charge. We will present an efficient linear programming formulation for the demand response of such a consumer who could be a price taker, industrial or commercial user of electricity that has some ability to self-generate. We will establish a monotonicity ...

Designing Incentive-based Demand Response Program for Minimizing Financial Risk of Retailer during Peak Period

In this paper, a customer incentive scheme is proposed for retailers to build an effective demand response program over the peak demand period to minimize the financial risk. Firstly, an objective function is formulated based on the market operation and an optimal incentive price is derived from this objective function. Secondly, the incentive price is employed as a part of an incentive scheme ...

Peak Shaving through Resource Buffering

We introduce and solve a new problem inspired by energy pricing schemes in which a client is billed for peak usage. At each timeslot the system meets an energy demand through a combination of a new request, an unreliable amount of free source energy (e.g. solar or wind power), and previously received energy. The added piece of infrastructure is the battery, which can store surplus energy for fu...

TR-2007018: Peak Shaving through Resource Buffering

We introduce and solve a new problem inspired by energy pricing schemes in which a client is billed for peak usage. Given is a sequence of n positive values (d1, d2, . . . , dn) that represent resource demands (typically energy) over time. At each timeslot i, the system requests a certain amount ri to meet the demand di. The added piece of infrastructure is the battery, which can store surplus ...

A Distributed Scheme for Incentive-based Residential Demand Response

Demand response (DR) enables customers to adjust their electricity usage to balance supply and demand. Although commercial and industrial DR have been in use for decades, residential DR is still emerging. The goal of this paper is to design a DR scheme for residential customers. We consider households operating various appliances and propose a distributed DR scheme to manage the appliances to k...
